1/ Qualifications / Requirements:

Knowledge and experience of teaching one or more related international courses eg IGCSE, A Level, IB and AP. The school follows the Cambridge Assessment International Education model and experience of IGCSE will be a considerable advantage. However successful experience of other examination courses will be considered.

A teaching qualification is strongly preferred, which could be Chinese or International. However excellent experience may be considered, especially if there is evidence of good examination results.

Minimum of three years experience in a similar role in a reputable international school.

The ability to use a range of teaching and learning techniques, always ensuring that such techniques are suited to the needs of both whole classes and individual students within the class.

Suitable character for working with Middle and High school students.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to create appropriate teaching materials to motivate and guide learners across the required age-range.

The ability to teach bilingually in English and Chinese will be an advantage.

2/ Key Responsibilities:

To deliver high quality lessons in line with school policies and which prepare students for the appropriate examination.

To teach Mathematics in a manner which respects both Chinese culture in general and the educational philosophies of Xinxuedao in particular.

To avoid on all occasions topics which are incompatible with Chinese law and culture – eg political and religious topics.

To contribute to the wider academic and social development of students in the school by contributing to school events and activities eg – cross-curricular days.

This is a residential school. Availability to give additional support to students in the evenings and/or at weekends will be an advantage.

To support the marketing strategies of the school by being an appropriate presence at Open Days and other marketing events.

To support the Summer and Winter camp activities of the school by acting as a teacher and/or tutor as required.

To ensure at all times the well-being, safety and welfare of students in line with Xinxuedao rules and Chinese laws.
