Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in blood and vascular research in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
We are looking for highly motivated postdoctoral research associates. We have demonstrated novel molecular mechanisms mediating platelet-neutrophil interactions under thromboinflammatory conditions, including atherothrombosis, vascular inflammation, and ischemia/reperfusion injury (Li et al. Circulation 2019; Li et al. J Exp Med 2022; Jha et al. Circ Res 2023). The postdoc associate will study the mechanisms mediating intravascular cell-cell aggregation, vascular occlusion, and organ damage in thromboinflammation using state-of-the-art techniques including, but not limited to, confocal intravital microscopy, ex vivo microfluidic assays, gene knockdown/editing (CRISPR/Cas9) systems, animal disease models, and scRNA-seq.
The candidate should have
1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
2. Previous experience in cell and molecular biology and/or mouse disease models (e.g., inflammation, diabetes, or thrombosis)
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and
4. First-author papers in premier journals
The postdoc associate should be eligible for employment in the U.S. The starting date is immediate. PI will help the postdoctoral associate develop his/her career by providing a highly interactive and exciting research environment and by encouraging the preparation of research papers, application of fellowships, and participation at national meetings.
